We encourage you to choose transportation with a lower climate impact. Gothenburg has good connections by several means of transport. Think train, carshare, bus, ferry. Here is a comparison of the carbon footprint of different forms of transportation
Main Venue
Forum, at Doktor Fries Torg 7, Göteborg is our main venue and the home of West Coast Jitterbugs. All parties and all classes will be at Forum. We have very nice floors, you’ll see. 😉
At Forum, there are hangout areas and a fully functioning kitchen where you can heat your food or fill your water bottle. Forum does not have changing rooms or showers.
What to bring
We recommend bringing a water bottle, dance shoes or other indoor shoes, preferably with soles that allow sliding on the floor to spare your knees. Other things that might come handy are a spare t-shirt if you get sweaty, and some chewing gum to prevent bad breath. And deodorant to keep fresh the whole night long.
Food and Alcohol
Near Forum there are grocery stores and a few restaurants open all day well into the evening. At Forum there are some microwave ovens you can use to heat up your lunch or dinner. We have cuttlery you can borrow.
Fika – we take this very seriously
Included in the full pass, fika will be served between classes during the day, consisting of coffee, tea, fruit, snacks, and sweets.
In the evenings, some lighter snacks will be available for all attendees, along with more substantial late-night food around midnight. We want to keep you dancing all night long!
Of course the tea dance on Sunday will include lots of fika.
Preorder lunch
To make lunch logistics easier and calmer for us all you have the alternative to preorder lunch. There are four meal options for Saturday and Sunday and they cost 105 SEK per meal and person.
Food options, all vegan, the same for each day:
- Chickpea stew (Tomato, paprika, onions, garlic, cumin, thyme)
- Noodle salad (Rice noodles, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, coriander, lime, soya beans, oumph (soy based protein), chili, garlic, red onions)
- Pasta salad *Gluten* (Pasta, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, olives, sunflower seeds, basil, garlic, lemon)
- Pumpkin and Cauliflower with couscous *Gluten* (Pumpkin, cauliflower, garlic, coriander, harissa, lime, couscous)

Please order your lunch by April 10 at the latest. You pick up your food at the main venue at lunchtime.
Alcohol
This festival will not have a bar. You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages to the evening parties. If you choose to drink alcohol, please do so responsibly and avoid getting drunk.
You should also be aware that in Sweden you can only buy alcohol in Systembolaget and not in any grocery stores. Please note the opening hours of Systembolaget. They close earlier on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays.

Gothenburg has a lot of different alternatives for accommodation in different price ranges.
Be Hosted by a Local
In your sign up form you have the option to check if you would like to be hosted by a local dancer or if you are a local dancer willing to host. We will do our best to match you with a local dancer.
Public Transport
Gothenburg has a regional transport service called Västtrafik provides information on ticket costs and timetables.
The nearest tram stop to Forum is Doktor Fries torg. It is also a less than ten minutes walk from the stop Wavrinskys plats.
We recommend using the app Västtrafik To-Go to:
- find live transportation data for route planning
- purchase tickets with card payment
- access to live location and timetable information for trams and buses.
Pricing and 3-day ticket
The cost for a single ticket is SEK 37, and it is valid for 90 minutes. You can buy a ticket in the app or with your credit card on the tram.
If you plan to use public transport often while in Gothenburg, you can save money by purchasing a 3-day ticket. This ticket costs SEK 240 and is valid for 72 hours. Gothenburg belongs to Zone A. The ticket will be activated immediately.
To buy a 3-day ticket, follow these steps:
1. Open the app and tap ”Buy Ticket (Köp biljett)”
2. Choose ”Day Ticket (Dygnsbiljett)”
3. Select “Zon A”
4. Select ”3 days (3 dygn)”
